Round 3 of our exploration of Maui takes us to the gorgeous historical Iao Valley. Iao Valley is a great place to go to get away from the beach crowds, and do something different. You can hike around, and even swim in the streams that run down the valley. Watch out for leeches though.
We risked it for the video, and everything turned out OK. Off the Path at Iao Valley is a quick look at some of the lesser-explored parts of the Valley for you more adventurous types.
Iao Valley is a fun place to go with friends and family. If you call ahead and pack a cooler, there are several pavilions available that you can reserve. They are spacious enough to fit your whole party, and each is equipped with a large charcoal grill.
So grab your water shoes, and your BBQ forks, and head down to Iao Valley. It’s a nice place…
This video is of the lower part of the valley. There is a much longer more strenuous hike in the upper part of the valley. That video will be coming in the future. So look out for more from Iao Valley and other places around Maui.
