My first day out with a Canon HF100. The day following black rainstorm was surprisingly fine without a drizzle. Light was mainly from overcast clouds.
Many different settings from Easy mode, to P, Av and Tv were tried. A Raynox 0.5x Wide Angle Converter gave more pleasing angles of view at wide side. The image has a little blurring at the end of tele when the lens was on. The optical tele of the camcorder itself (scene of the dolphins at pool side) was reasonably sharp. The details of the coat of Panda was amazing. The scenes of jellyfish were taken with Av mode with aperture set at wide open at f/1.4. The first half was taken with default color setting. The latter half was taken with "natural" color setting.
All clips were shot at 1920x1080. They were imported to iMovie '08 as a 1920x1080 project. Little editing was performed with background music - "身代わりジジ" by 久石譲. The movie was then exported to 1280x720 via QuickTime settings as suggested by Vimeo for uploading.
