The Flint Police Foundation - flintpolicefnd.net - will provide funding, beyond what is allocated by the city budget, to sustain and enhance the department’s crime-fighting tools needed to keep the community safe.
Mayor Dayne Walling is pleased about the announcement saying, "The new Flint Police Foundation is a great way to support public safety in the city." Police Chief James Tolbert added, "The Foundation will have a direct measurable impact on the safety of the City of Flint."
In addition to the items listed below, the critical K-9 unit needs help to sustain Edo, Flint’s new police dog who is certified in explosives detection and human tracking, and to bolster the K-9 team in the future.
