AfterShock is a performance inspired by the consequences of several brutal topological shocks. Exploring the ambiguity of realism in post-human landscapes, Herman Kolgen creates three-dimensional simulations through the instability of dynamical systems and converts them into large-scale cinematic visuals. During the performance, he builds multi-layered audio sedimentations that emphasize this cartography of catastrophe. He also develops a digital argentic process that lends a post-seismic aesthetic to his work. On stage, he can perform solo or with live musicians hailing from the host countries, who follow his graphic score.
