First performance by LARVA of a new musical score for the classic experimental science fiction film LA JETEE (1962, Chris Marker).
Performed at Vivid Projects, Birmingham UK on December 5th 2014.
Following live scores for cult psychedelic films The Mask (1960) and Idaho Transfer (1973), LA JETÉE's themes of memory, trauma and circular time are echoed in a score featuring analog synths, guitar, percussion and a new hand-built musical instrument: the Glass Chroma-Harp.
LARVA is a group variously comprising Scott Johannsson (Film Ficciones, Outer Sight) and Nick Sales (Pram, Bliss Body, Bow Gamelan Orchestra) along with various collaborators. LARVA's first LP release will be a limited edition of their score for The Mask on deluxe double vinyl in 2015, from Ondes Positives Recordings.
