This video shows how to tie a quick easy foam hopper dry fly that works well in many different scenarios.

Fish this in small streams, fish it in the riffles, fish it in the pockets. You can be sloppy with it, fish it above or below the surface, and it will produce. Best of all, you can't find a fly that is faster and easier to tie.

1. Wrap the size 12 hook shank with black 6/0 thread.
2. Cut a strip of foam, fold it over itself, tie it in with three segments.
3. Trim the front of the foam to make room for a wing.
4. Stack a small bunch of deer hair, tie it in, cinch it down.
5. Trim the head.
6 Finish.
