"Philosopher's Union Member's Mouthpiece #00,030: Stefan Szczelkun": Stefan Szczelkun, member of The Scratch Orchestra, participant in the 8th International Neoist Apartment Festival, publisher of Working Press, author of "The Conspiracy of Good Taste", proposer of the Philosopher's Union, &, no doubt, much more besides. Sometime in the mid-1980s John Berndt was visiting Stefan In London & Stefan mentioned his idea of having a Philosopher's Union whose motto would be "Keep Thinking Live" - inspired by the Musician's Union's motto "Keep Music Live". John told me about this idea in early 1988 around the time I acquired my PXL-2000 toy camcorder & the 2 things jived in my head &, Lo & Behold!, I decided to shoot a series of Philosopher's Union Member's Mouthpieces using the PXL. Shortly thereafter, I was in Greta GarBritain & I had the opportunity to capture Stefan waxing philosophical. While the spontaneity may've inclined Stefan more to waning philosophical, resulting less in philosophy & more in low-key performance, Szczelkun's essential affability is well-represented. - December 16, 2014EV notes from tENTATIVELY, a cONVENIENCE
