Executive Chef Antonio Cardoso of Atrio discusses the battle arena of culinary in the vibrant and diverse city of New York. Priding himself on simplistic and seasonal cooking - chef has has strong farm to table roots, but draws on the city as an international culinary mecca. Atrio is heavily inspired by chef’s Portuguese roots in the Mediterranean, but additionally draws flavours from the generations of different cultures across New York and Manhattan.
As a chef who has integrated so many aspects of his life to his culinary career, Antonio touches on the importance of inspiration, travel, and authenticity in his food. He is an artist crafting a plate with ingredients, a craftsman of culinary, and a warrior in the passionate battle for palate.
