Seniors who live alone are getting some holiday cheer from members of the Sheriff’s Senior Volunteer Patrol. Gift baskets and hot meals are being delivered to those enrolled in the Sheriff’s You Are Not Alone (YANA) program.
Those enrolled in the YANA program get daily phone calls and a weekly visit from a Senior Volunteer
Patrol member all year long. If a YANA member doesn't pick up their phone, a welfare check is conducted to
make sure everything is okay. The You Are Not Alone program is a free service for seniors who live alone and
disabled people living within the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department. To enroll, call the Sheriff's
Department at (858) 565-5200.
