Collective Memories is an 8mm road trip through the 1950's in North America. The film is comprised of found footage from several different families and comes from one-of-a-kind prints that I bought on Ebay and at estate sales in the Midwest. I transferred the films to digital format in my apartment.
The three videos in the trilogy represent seasons, each posing questions about the relationship between humankind and the natural world around.
Edited in sequence over a six month period, this emotional narrative is the product of years of work. The original idea for this film was conceived years ago, but through the collecting of images, archiving and transferring processes, these long ago memories are ready to once again find themselves in the world.

When my friends the Hypocrites gave me a copy of their 3 track EP titled 'The Golden H,' I immediately fell in love with it and set out to make my first video album. Each video is like a chapter in a book, not intended to be displayed on its own, but as a complete package.
