Digital video, running time 10 minutes, 34 seconds:
I only have stars for you; you only hold stars for me. pairs video footage of the implosion of the Stardust Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with personal and comparatively inept gestures. Cacophonous revelers at the implosion event who anxiously and irreverently await the extravaganza provide the primary “narration.” These elements combined present a complicated view of the spectacle, as horrific and sublime, that questions the role of the artist, both personally and generally, in proximity. The title alludes to the transitory nature of existence and the elusiveness of moments we try to hold on to: the pink-haired woman in the opening sequence is the artist and the man with balloons her spouse.
