This is a recording of me reading an excerpt of my zine "What We Go Through: anecdotes of everyday trauma caused by casual misogyny" at Henry's Cellar Bar's Big Mouth Open Stage in Edinburgh, Scotland on Monday, January 5 2015.
As I say in the beginning, I dedicated this reading to Tuğçe Albayrak.
I was one of two women to perform that evening, out of 10 or so performers (all musical).
Video is a touch out of sync, unfortunately, but otherwise it's all there.
Contains quite a few swear words, no doubt, and also a homophobic slur.
Purchase and read the full zine (paper or digital) for yourself here: etsy.com/ca/listing/213253659/zine-what-we-go-through-anecdotes-about?ref=shop_home_active_2
Thank you Grant McNeil for offering to record this for me (and for you!), and many thanks to everyone who came out to listen and to those who decided to purchase a zine that night.
