In January 2015, 100 people in 7 cities will build their own DIY environmental sensors and measure air quality, noise, pollution, light and temperature in: San Francisco, Geneva, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Bangalore, Singapore and Boston. Sensor hosts will be part of a global environmental awareness initiative. Stream your data online for three month for everybody to access, learn, use, create visualizations and all types of projects with it. On February 6th, 2015, we will open the data streams from all 100 sensors, and launch the second Data Canvas visualization challenge, after a great first challenge in 2013. Mashups with existing open datasets are encouraged – the more creative, the better! Maker, Hacker-Community Spaces, Universities, Art schools, and urban innovators are all on board. Stay tuned!
