Barnardos Square Dublin NYF 2015 Luminosity

Tuesday, December 30th, marked the launch of New Year Festival (NYF) Dublin, a 3-day series of events organised to celebrate the New Year in Dublin. NYF Dublin is an initiative by Fáilte Ireland in partnership with Dublin City Council and produced by event organisers Holohan Leisure and MCD Productions. The three-day celebration replaced its predecessor, Love Dublin. The new and exciting citywide festival featured the NYF Dublin Countdown Concert & Music Trail along with family friendly events including Love Dublin, Luminosity, NYF Food Village, the Procession of Light and Resolution Day.

Avtek Solutions’ created Luminosity for the NYF, a visual, interactive experience in which 3D light projections brought to life the facades of some of Dublin’s most iconic buildings and statues – Barnardos Square, Wolfe Tone Square and Trinity College. Festival goers watched as Luminosity lit up these buildings telling their unique story with cutting edge 3D digital displays. The family friendly spectacle took place daily from 5pm to midnight over the 3 days.

This is Barnardos Square where the audience could choose the fairy tale they wanted including a choice from different characters and plots via Avtek Solution’s 55” interactive Touch Table.

Avtek were proud to provide Audio Visual support including the equipment, operation and concept creation of all the 3D Projection shows. Avtek have supported the previous two year’s NYE Love Dublin events and we are honoured to have seen it grow to the full festival event it is now.
