What makes us happy? Director Denver Hollingsworth looks into this question with the help of his younger brother, Jackson, in his feature-length documentary "Butterfly: Jackson's Story." The film tells the story of a remarkable and incredibly special young man named Jackson Hollingsworth from the eyes of his older brother, Denver. Jackson was born with a variety of rare conditions, chief among them Ichthyosis, a condition that causes his skin to dry at a rate 300x faster than that of a normal person. Although he has been faced with nearly insurmountable obstacles since birth, he remains a bright, bubbly, and truly happy spirit, inspiring all those who know him. The film explores a typical day-in-the-life of Jackson, defining who he is, where he comes from, and how unique he is amongst his peers. Surrounded by a dedicated team of doctors, teachers, caregivers, and a loving family, Jackson has been spreading his wings--gracefully, although not without setbacks--into a beautiful butterfly of a person.
