The preview video for our CROWDRISE CAMPAIGN for BROOKLYN SINGS! TO FINISH THE FIGHT! a documentary series being produced by BRIC which will follow the Road To BROOKLYN SINGS!
SING! is a student-run musical production which pits the various grades of the schools against each other for annual bragging rights. It has been a true Brooklyn tradition for almost 70 years, providing treasured memories for all its participants.
Relay For Life is the community based signature event of the American Cancer Society whose mission is to raise cancer awareness and funds to improve cancer survival, decrease the incidence of cancer, and improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their caretakers.
Back in the 50’s and early 60’s, the winners of SING! from the different schools would sometimes compete against each other in Inter-Sing for neighborhood bragging rights.
This year, in BROOKLYN SINGS! the winners of SING! from Murrow, Midwood and Madison High Schools are competing for something even more important, to help FINISH THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER.
The journey to BROOKLYN SINGS! is now the subject of a compelling new documentary series produced by BRIC MEDIA ARTS which will culminate with an episode dedicated entirely to a live broadcast of the BROOKLYN SINGS! Benefit performance on March 7th 2015 at Edward R Murrow High School.
It is through this site, that the supplemental funding for this amazing project will become a reality. In that reality, the story of BROOKLYN SINGS!, which is one of both tradition and the dedication of the talented students of Madison, Midwood and Murrow High Schools will shine on as the standard of how the nurturing of the arts can sow the seeds of civic responsibility and sense of community in tomorrows’ leaders.
