Ben Echols is a Senior Software Engineer and Dev Lead at Webfilings where he writes software for Google App Engine. His background includes working on many different server stacks for software companies such as MSNBC, Microsoft Mobile, Nokia Ovi, Microsoft Game Studios, and RightNow/Oracle. Ben’s interest in server technology extends into his free time where he likes to learn new programming languages and write multiplayer games. Most recently he has been playing with Unity3d and Go.
Google’s Go programming language is a relatively new language that targets concurrent server software. The aim of this talk is to get people excited about Go! Through live demos and gripping dissertation, this talk will show how easy it is to get started with Go, have it running in production, and how nicely Go integrates into Google App Engine.
