A Stirring Story is another one of my student 16mm films, shot with no budget using Evergreen State College gear during a weekend. This film is fairly traditional in terms of its style. It uses continuity editing and follows a plot and so forth. It played at the Olympia Film Festival as part of an experimental short film program, but I don't think it belongs in that company, truth be told. Even so, I was glad that it saw a theatrical screening. The production design aimed for an early 1980s look. It is cinema as dream, and doesn't hope to follow a strict three act structure, though it does wrap up with a tidy repetition of the opening shot.
