It is very important to us that we provide the best possible care to our patients. We recognise that our staff are our most important asset.
Darryl and David work extremely well together as we share a similar philosophy on treating and helping people.
It is rewarding for us that by being approachable, honest and plain speaking, we can offer our patients the best attention, care and treatment that they can get. Our approach to the technical, scientific and practical side to dentistry is also similar, and we both value the interpersonal relationships we build with our patients. We compliment each other on different styles of dentistry.
It's a successful blending of personalities, skills and experience. It is very important to us that we provide the best possible care to our patients and we recognise that our staff are our most important asset. We have been very blessed with our team members – some have been with us for over 15 years. Our qualified team is made up of receptionists, dental assistants and hygienists.
They are all friendly and approachable and understand the stresses involved in going to the dentist. They have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are helpful and thoughtful with every enquiry they get. When choosing members of our team we rely as much on their personal and communication skills as on their technical skills. We look for warm, caring and friendly good people. It’s always quite easy to train someone in technical skills but you can’t train someone to be caring and sympathetic. It’s not so much that they are team members more that they are like friends for our patients.
When patients feel that way it makes going to the dentist a more enjoyable experience. Our very skilled and experienced team of hygienists also make going to the dentist a enjoyable experience. We place a lot of energy and focus on preventative treatments and having hygienists in our practice has been an enormous help for our patients.
Hygienists have a concentrated education in one facet of dentistry which is the treatment of gum problems and preventing new problems in teeth. We were actually one of the first practices in Brisbane to have a hygienist. We’ve found patients respond really well to having that specialised care and attention. Most people report to us that they’ve never experienced that kind of in-‐depth help and attention to detail before. It is the integral part of the preventative dental regime that we believe so strongly in. Our ongoing commitment to provide the best treatment possible includes keeping up to date with the latest techniques and dental issues as well as ensuring
we have the latest state- of-the-art equipment at hand. Both Darryl and David invest time each year attending continuing education courses, updating our skills and ensuring we have the best information to help our patients, in the best possible way.
We have quality dental systems and processes in place that put you and your family's dental health and well-‐ being first and Today’s Dentistry is a Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) Accredited Dental Practice. This means that we have adopted the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards into our existing quality systems and have demonstrated a commitment to the provision of excellent dental care and continuous quality improvement within the practice environment.
Over the last 25 years of providing quality dental care, our practice has a golden rule that everyone, from the person answering the phone to the person fitting your braces, believes in and practices actively.
That is: Do unto others as you would have them do to you. For us this takes on many different forms, including a friendly greeting, high quality professional treatment and talking to you in plain English about all your dental choices. We also like to ensure you are comfortable, and feeling right at home among friends.
