Project Lungisela - From you at risk, to youth at work:
The aim of Project Lungisela is to prepare youth who have formally lived on the street and have grown up in Children’s Homes for the transition from institutional care to face the particular challenges of returning to their communities and becoming independent. The ultimate aim of the programme is to prepare youth to be ready and able to work and earn a living in order to able to support themselves. The internship programme offers work experience and a stepping-stone into the working world. Mamelani works with these young men for 18 months prior to them leaving the children's home and offer support once they have left the home until they have secured employment.
