Interview Room 11
Building Echoes will be the first exhibition of Interview Room 11 that analyses the relationship between architecture and art. Two artists, Alberto Condotta and Colin Lindsay, will give their own vision about the meaning of architecture, playing as well with the concepts of 'body' and 'sculpture'.
Lindsay takes as starting point Le Corbusier’s Shodan House, a construction that blurs the distinction between inside and outside. For this exhibition, the artist takes aspects of Shodan House as the basis for a series of related sculptures. Condotta, meanwhile, presents a series of paintings evoking the synaesthetic feeling of space perceived by the self-body. For that he uses spaces that are familiar to him, such as views of his flat or places he knows well like the neighbourhood of Leith or certain images of Italy.
This dialogue between these two artists will enrich their works and the space, creating new echoes that will leave new traces in the gallery.
