202 is a short film about Nick Roberts, who just finished his 2nd year as a professional driver competing in Rally America. Rally racing is truly an underground sport that, although popular in Europe, is new to many people here in the states. Unlike other motor sports, which have courses designed specifically for driving, Rally uses natural "found" courses, very few of them optimal for driving, let alone racing. We followed Nick and his team as they competed in the Ojibwe Forests Rally in Detroit Lakes, MN, which covers hundreds of miles of trails systems extending though the Paul Bunyan State Forest.
Nick grew up driving 4-wheelers and go-carts around the family farm and this quickly turned into a passion for "going fast through the woods." When he connected that idea to Rally racing, it was the beginning of a dream for him. Being a business owner, husband, and father of 2, he had reservations. However, after his dad got sick and he realized how short life can be, he decided to get in a car and start chasing his dream.
As Rally America continues to grow, we are confident that Nick and his team will be leading the charge.
