Lisa, the owner of Fibre HR specialist HR consultants, loves using mobile accounting software to power her Melbourne-based small business.
She notes that her bookkeeping and accounting was very clunky before they moved to a cloud solution. Staff had to do a lot of manual intervention and data entry to get the reports they wanted.
"The biggest difference for me is having control in real-time around what's happening with the finances," she explains.
"As anyone who runs a business knows, it's really important to know what's coming in and going out."
As Sarah is in an industry that tends to charge for work by the hour, it's important that Fibre HR can record what they do for each client hourly.
"Being able to use add-on systems that allow us to track what we're doing by the hour; then reporting out of Xero; then doing out billing in a time-effective manner is really important from a cashflow point of view.
"I love the fact that it's in the cloud, so my bookkeeper and I can have control of working in Xero at the same time, in real time.
"I use Xero from home, at work, on my iPhone... even when waiting for clients or when I wake up in the bed in the morning! I love the flexibility of using a system like that."
