wave vs. shore is a documentary film by Martin Štrba about extraordinary generation of the Slovak photographers that got together in the beginning of the 80ties on the FAMU (Film Academy) in Prague.
Through the current interviews with the original protagonists (creators) of the 80tie New Wave, the film will try to capture the process of the accumulation and multiplication of the creative energy in a given place and time.
Theme of the film is current in respect of referring to the role of the environment in which the creativity and inspiration can overgrow in to the phenomena. What where the influences that effected the Slovak FAMU photography students in the beginning of the 80ties, and is it possible to intentionally create conditions for occurrence of such phenomena.
