In honor of the International Day of Action for Rivers. The International Rivers Network sponsored a Wild River Dance video contest. A bunch of my friends from grad school thought it might be cool if we could figure out a way to remotely do a group dance together even though we had all graduated and scattered to different corners of the country.
I asked my friend Mike Deni to make the beat, and I wrote a rap to go over it. Jorge Figueroa sent us a sample which we incorporated into the background vocals. Then I made up a simple dance that everyone could learn and posted the instructions on youtube with my friend Heather Richard. In an amazing show of comradery, and a love for fun and rivers, friends from all over filmed themselves doing the dance by their favorite rivers and sent me the clips via the magic of internet. I spliced them together and created this video.
We won the contest!
