On and off the field, Jasmine Draper is a true representation of the sport of ultimate. Unlike many, she started her college ultimate career as a true rookie. Her hard work and dedication to the sport have brought her a long way since then, developing her field skills into clear field vision, amazing hucks, sick layouts, and insane defensive skills. As the captain of Woman Scorned, she leads our team with poise and respect. She pushes our team through her own example, and when she asks us to give 100% effort, she is sure to be giving 150%. I have only ever seen Jazz yell at herself for mistakes, but she only cheers when her team mates make the play.

Spirit is never even a question when Jasmine is on the field. Although the opportunity arises often, she never spikes the disc or celebrates her own score. Although her defense is aggressive, she is rare to foul and even more rare to contest. Even in practice, Jasmine pushes her teammates to be the best they can be. Whether it is beating us (and the guys) in sprints or taking the time to teach younger players about the game, she is giving herself to the team.

Jasmine is an ideal representation of the Callahan award. Her dedication to the sport, superior field skills, strong leadership, and inspiring spirit make her the perfect nominee.
