Shooting in the streets of New York is always a challenge, especially Time square and Broadway at 8PM. I'M MAD THEY SAID !
Luckily I've shot Time Square a few times before and new what I was getting myself into.
The TVAD called for a loose look, so I new I could go hand held. Dragging a Arri Alexa into the streets with a crew to suite was never going to happen, So I stuck with my trusted RED DRAGONS and slimmed down the bodies to their smallest size, accompanied with a bag full of RED VOLTS and a couple of back packs full of lenses, off we went with permits in place, With only 3 actual camera crew and a string of producers & agency buried in the crowd behind us. The Jazz club we converted a small inner city Brooklyn bar / church / music venue combo into a funcky little jazz club ! which worked a treat.
Was a fun job working quick and dirty which always yields great results. because your not slowed by over sized crews. Especially in a great city like New York.
