PLAIN GROVE TOWNSHIP, Pa.-- The bluebird is making a comeback in Plain Grove Township in Lawrence County where a pair of dairy farmers spend spare time making the critters feel at home.
The bluebird population had declined in recent decades-experts blame old pesticides. But at the Grassy Crest Farm…Richard and Blanch Kind say the birds are thriving.
They have dozens of bluebird houses. For nearly a decade the couple has tracked houses, county eggs and kept an eye out for baby bluebirds.
Videojournalist Drew Trifelos shows us how this colorful couple turned a bird watching hobby into a quiet environmental crusade.
