Title: VFX animator.
VFX clip: Cabin on fire.
This clip is a group effort from the Ubisoft Digital Arts VFX team. My assignment was the development of a fire and smoke recipe for a collapsing cabin on the left side of the screen. I was also tasked with the pre compositing of the VFX team output for the daily approval. In the end the smoke and fire covered up most of my collapsing dynamic but the overall result was worth it. The smoke plumes were a combination of Fume FX fluid simulation and Afterburn particles to achieve a higher level of detail and thickness. The cabin deformation and collapsing was achieved through a combination of rigid body dynamic and hand animation in Softimage XSI.
