Thousand Plateaus is, not only a revolutionary contemporary dance performance that breaks the rules of the proscenium stage, but also functions as a meeting point that enhances the connection between dance, architecture, and visual artists.
The production invites local artists and illustrators to sketch the performance as it happens, and present their point of view by hanging their sketches post the show in the same space.
“Thousand Plateaus, as it name suggests, doesn’t pose a single overarching thesis. Instead, it presents a collection of intriguing images that the viewer, based on their perspective, can organize into perception.”
(Theo Boguszewski, Dance-Enthusiast)
..."When her precise, slinky solo cycled by in front of you, it was one thing that you wanted to spend more time with."
(Siobhan Burke, The New York Times)
“The dance world should definitely pay attention to the next phase of Danaka Dance's growth; Katz and her company are a rising entity.”
