Talk given to the Radical Anthropology Group at The Function Room, The Cock Tavern, 23 Phoenix Road, London NW1 1HB on 27 January 2015. Chris Knight is the founder of the Radical Anthropology Group and author of Blood Relations: Menstruation and the origins of culture (1995). Knight's thesis unites biological, social and evolutionary approaches to develop a powerful theory of human origins, showing that female reproductive strategies cannot be ignored in an account of the emergence of humans as a species.
