Plague

In an age when the great powers of the world reach tyranny, it can often feel like we wandered into the scrolls of an ancient myth. The earth scorches with a foreign fever, as if the restless sea god has taken great offense and churns the deep with his wrath. Many go hungry while the few indulge in gluttony, like emperors of old or futile kings with fruitless crowns and thrones of lies.

Voices fall silent, stifled at a time when not only our source of sustenance is threatened, but even the sanctuary of thought itself is laid siege to. Adrift, uncertain and unheard, we ask the deaf heavens: have we been forsaken? Yet, somewhere beyond the endless horizon of despair, we dare to believe deliverance lingers just beyond, no more than a fortnight away.
