In a particularly distressing period of my life, I spoke to a video camera an excerpt of writings from the artist Milan Knizak. The video documents my sadness for my situation by speaking aloud the words about the concept of love, and upon viewing it, analyzes my "core" or "essence", as Knizak would say.
Knizak's lessons in this essay is such: He refers to love as a “dimension of faith.” The way we see love in our dreams is only through ourselves: we are the only ones involved in this love. While love is a “earthly presence”, the only way love will exist perfectly is in our dream state; the actions of another human being would never be able to completely fulfill our dreams of love. However, when you actually experience the act of love, everything changes. You are shifted out of your dreams and into reality. When your reality of love and someone else’s reality of love are combined, it transcends the love that exists in our dreams, because it creates something new that we were not able to imagine prior. Through this love, Knizak states, “the world is constructed anew.”
