Curated by Saatchi & Saatchi for VivaWomen!, a Publicis Groupe initiative aimed at raising the profile of women in advertising, ‘There’s a Good Girl’ took its name from Marianne Grabrucker’s 1980s bestseller which documented her attempts to raise her daughter gender-neutrally and encourage her to ‘reach for the stars’.
The original idea for the exhibition was conceived by Creative Director Jo Wallace, with the intention of showcasing the work of creative women making their mark on contemporary culture. The exhibition was co-curated by Jo Wallace, Suzie Quill, Camilla McLean, Lee Sharrock, Layla Boyd, Shelley Dobson and Lisa Robbins.
20 ground-breaking women creatives and artists exhibited in ‘There’s a Good Girl’ (TAGG), which showcased unique sculpture, photography, film, illustration, painting and digital art; Alison Carmichael, Alison Jackson, Arvida Bystrom, Cassandra Yap, Hattie Stewart, Jessica May Underwood, Jillian Lochner, Kathryn Ferguson, Malika Favre, Mary Nighy, Michela Picchi, Miss Cakehead, Nancy Fouts, Natasha Law, Pam Glew, Rhea Thierstein, Sara Pope, Soozy Lipsey, Toni Gallagher and Veronique Rolland.
After a private view at Saatchi & Saatchi on Nov 27th 2014, the exhibition moved to The Assembly Rooms where it was open to the public until the end of January 2015.
