2 of 4 stop-motion animations created by 9th and 10th grade students at UIC College Prep (Chicago Public School and Nobel Charter) in May 2010.
The images were inspired by artist Robin Rhodes' stop-motion work investigating space, and exploring the interactions between 2D and 3D objects. Students discussed the role of space and segregation in Rhodes work - honing in on his playful representation of expectations - and we decided to examine school as a shared public space.
The titles were collectively written by the students as If-Then poems, inspiring the narrative of their pieces.
