Ruth Augustin is one of 11 Haitian missionaries who joined OM this year, serving both at home and abroad. Ruth is a nurse with a passion to educate young Haitians about HIV/AIDs and also tell them about Jesus. Around 70 percent of Haitians are under the age of 30, so teaching children and young people about HIV/AIDs prevention is key to long-term impact. Ruth has a vision to go not only to schools in the capital city of Port-au-Prince, but also “mountain to mountain” throughout Haiti. Ruth hasn’t let lack of resources – Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere – stop her from answering God’s call into missions.
