The month of March is traditionally known throughout the Church of God of Prophecy as World Mission Drive. It provides one of two annual opportunities in which to invest in Mission Giving in support of our national leaders and mission nations.
The mission of Global Missions Ministries within the Church of God of Prophecy is to assist national ministries to evangelize throughout the world by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. One response to that mission is fulfilled by planting vibrant local churches that will multiply and saturate their cultures.
The Global Missions Network Capsule consists of over 12,098 churches internationally; more than 13,000 preaching points where the gospel is proclaimed; ministry in 132 nations with National/Regional Offices globally; providing the Gospel message and ministry to Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, and tribal peoples around the world.
One primary objective for our mission ministry is developing and utilizing indigenous leaders. We believe that indigenous leaders understand the culture and context of ministry perhaps better than leaders from other cultures. This year in the mission network we have indigenous leaders taking the primary role in most of our national ministries.
Cooperatively, Global Missions Ministries continue to revision established and initiate new mission challenges from the ministries that comprise the Global Missions Ministries including Harvest Partners, Helping Hand Ministry, One Child Fund, and Servant Partners Cooperative coordinating mission teams of construction and training in the nations.
Harvest Partners is a mission giving opportunity available through local churches. This partnership continues to assist support in national ministries active in 132 nations through HP Mission Giving. Mission Giving, or what we have referred to as level 1 giving, provides for a national budget to put in place a national administrative bishop providing both a personal and a work allotment to assist in all of the developing and diverse ministries within the nation. We enjoy miraculous testimonies from our brothers and sisters who work at these national levels of ministry. One such testimony comes from the national bishop in Pakistan. He recently shared concerning a miraculous healing of a non-Christian who had come to a Sunday service where our bishop pastors. The man was experiencing life-threatening heart issues. During the service the non-believer experienced a heart attack which resulted in the revelation of Jesus the Healer and a divine encounter of healing. This healing verified by his own heart doctor set the stage for a divine opportunity for the local church to move through the legalities of obtaining permission for construction of their church building. What had been stuck in bureaucracy for many months miraculously was processed in one day and came with an offering of $2,000 to begin the construction. In this same region, five new house churches have been planted in Afghanistan. This is only one testimony of the miraculous effects of mission giving and indigenous leadership.
Next week you will be encouraged to rejoice through the testimonies of faithful God in response to the ministry of Harvest Partner Project Giving and Helping Hand Ministry. No doubt, you will be moved with compassion as you continue to hear the narratives of our current mission testimonies of positioning, deliverance and provision.
