1947 Volkswagen beetle split-window by Tim Hesse
Originally built at the Wolfsburg factory in Germany, It initially came with cable brakes, non-synchronized transmission and just 25 horsepower from a 1131 cc engine, the gauges were limited to a just a speedometer and warning lights and had no gloves doors.
9,000 were built in 1947 and were the first sold to civilians with chrome trim, bumpers, hubcaps, and running-board moldings.
