A short piece I made last year to test the capabilities of a new Letus Elite DoF adapter on my XH A1.
Directing a Coca Cola commercial on Tuesday and needed DP to see this to understand the 'golden light' look I'm trying to achieve for the ad (although not as harsh as demonstrated here).
Shot entirely on the Canon XH A1 with Letus of course.
Water (present day) sequences shot using a Zeiss Distagon ZF T* 35mm f/2 (which I find lends an accentuated green rendition).
Golden field (memory) sequences shot using my favourite lens, the Nikon 85mm F1.4 Nikkor Ai-S. Put this lens onto the Letus at sunset for incredible photography. Accentuates golden light. (Use a matte box or a hood or you'll get lens flare like I did!)
Used Twixtor Pro to slow up some sequences.
Used 'Neat Video' as a blur effect, rather than a noise reduction tool for some sequences. - (side note: this works great sometimes, but the H.264 compression seems to 'strobe' some sequences here, don't know why)
No filters used, but I further warmed it up a little in post. Perhaps a little too much in retrospect.
Subjects were my son and his school friend.
