I started reading the manual to Apple Color this weekend and I'm trying some things out. This is my first attempt at some "secondary color correction".
Here's what I did:
1. Primary color correction -- not much, just increased the contrast a bit (crushing blacks and so forth)
2. Secondary color correction -- first I isolated the spider using a vignette mask and an HSL (hue, saturation, lightness) key and bumped the color into the yellow/reds and increased the saturation. Then I added a few shadowy areas to the scene for some contrast using a couple of vignette masks and also desaturated the brown "corpses" in the background.
3. Color FX -- added one of the standard vignette "looks" supplied as a freely downloadable add-on to Color
Zoom and rotation effects applied in Final Cut.
