Across the American River from the start of American River Trail (and near the Sacramento River), is a path atop the levee signed as the Two Rivers Bikeway.
It wasn't much of a bike path, and it and the area around it was peppered with bums--BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! There is a bridge with a bumpy surface that connects to the ART (along with the park bridge at the start) and a spur that is signed as going into downtown Sacramento (that doesn't really go that far off the main path).
For this video, I tried Point Of View. Maybe a good idea to show more that just in front of the bike, but it quickly became clear that handholding was a poor and awkward way to go. A helmet mount like I've seen others do will perhaps be the next step.
