"This is the way we lived. This is the way we survived." - Chief Calvin Craigan (Hiwus) of the shishalh Nation,
A visit to British Columbia's Sunshine Coast wouldn't be complete without a torrential rainstorm and a salmon feast. Foodists.ca founders Ben and Mark were invited to beautiful Sechelt by the shishalh Nation to participate in a traditional First Nations Salmon BBQ. Ben was overwhelmed by the smoke of the alderwood fire but managed to have a fantastic experience, lending a hand with the historic preparation of this incredible meal.
Watch as the guys brave the elements and learn the traditional First Nations technique for cooking salmon.
