The open idea challenge Advocate Europe is an opportunity for game-changers: We invite active citizens and transnational changemakers to share their non-profit project ideas with us: advocate-europe.eu
We are looking for initiatives in the fields of civic education, arts and culture, democracy and participation, social innovation or innovative forms of advocacy.
By mentoring and funding non-profit project ideas with up to € 50,000 each, we aim to foster transformative activities throughout European civil society. Winning initiatives will be selected by both the public and an expert jury from among the ideas shared on Advocate Europe’s online platform (advocate-europe.eu). Additionally, the public will determine the winner of a Community Award whose recipient will be awarded an additional € 5,000.
Up to 12 project ideas will be realised. Winning teams and organisations will build and test the prototypes of projects which they believe are key to addressing Europe’s current needs. In doing so, they will be supported by Advocate Europe’s partner organisations – MitOst and Liquid Democracy, supported by Stiftung Mercator – and a motivated community of fellows.
Advocate Europe is open to civil society actors from all over Europe: whether they have years of experience or are embarking on something new; whether they are still studying or finished long ago. We especially encourage partnerships between organisations or initiatives outside of conventional frameworks – e.g. across geographical or language borders, across cultural boundaries or across established sectors – in order to exploit the full potential of transformative actions. Our “advocates” are open-minded, curious, passionate and committed.
