Cycling from the eastern terminus of the Interstate-80 bikeway in West Sacramento to the State Capital (Hi Arnold, let's go for a ride!) Includes an unexpected wide detour around the Tower Bridge that the local liberal rag said was open. (At least I got to use the unique double-decker road over rail bridge that the pros in the Tour of California use--which is CLOSED TO TRAFFIC then.)
Anyway, once over the yellow Tower Bridge lift bridge, if you turn left into Old Town Sacramento, you can ride from the Train Museum to the American River Trail.
And yes, West Sacramento is as dismal as it apears (not that Sacramento is much better). And yes, I was running with my blinking world's best bicycle headlight and taillight in the overcast weather.
