Rust is a new language started at Mozilla Research that is intended to have performance similar to C but with the memory safety of a garbage collected language. No longer only used to build a web browser, it has attracted not only traditional systems programmers but also many people who previously programmed in high level languages. In this talk, we will cover the design goals and core concepts of Rust.
