As writing teachers, we often use mentor texts as a way to examine what other authors do in their writing, but we rarely demonstrate our own thinking and writing processes – we rarely model. Research shows that learning to write (like learning to drive, swim or knit) happens best when someone comes alongside us and shows us how it’s done. In this webinar I’ll provide concrete examples of how give students a peek into the mind of another writer and unlock the transformative power of modeled writing.
