This piece originates from two different inspirations. One is The Labyrinth by Korean composer Byungki Hwang, and is also the soundtrack of this piece, and the other inspiration is Greek mythology. In Greek mythology, a labyrinth is a complex maze that houses the Minotaur, half-man and half-bull. For the child who is left as a sacrifice, it is a horrifying place of death. In a barren, dreamlike landscape, one is left alone. There is a tunnel like a visceral organ that one must pass through. After one escapes the tunnel, one again runs into death. The Labyrinth is an expression of fear and of the mystery of death.
