A video tour of Mackay's Historic Mine Hill and the Ghost Towns of White Knob & Cliff Creek. Valuable ore was discovered here in 1884 and over the years miners recovered 1,000,000 tons, including 42,000 ounces of gold, 2,000,000 ounces of silver and 62,000,000 tons of copper. The mine hill is an adventure for four wheel drive vehicles, ATVs and mountain bikes, but many portions of the tour are accessible to standard automobiles. Photographers will find unlimited opportunities to record with their cameras. Adjoining the Mine Hill Tour are endless miles of back roads to explore. Mackay's Mine Hill tour is a must for visitors to Mackay and the Big Lost River Valley. The South Custer Historical Society and its volunteers are responsible for the mine hill's preservation and restoration as well as color coded maps and route signage.
