Concept : ENERGY TRANSLATION NOW
One day while driving I said, "If petrol price would double from now, maybe everyone would get off their cars and prices of everything may skyrocket, and the society may even collapse." Then my fellow passenger said "No, we'll never get off - unless it gets 10 times higher or something. Cars bring you freedom and allow you everywhere anytime. We'll keep driving." This made me realize, energy has always been transferred into "heat" or "money," but also into "freedom." In proportion to its content, anything us humans imagine requires energy in order to realize.
A sensitive structural balance between consumption and supply of massive energy has been behind the state of maintaining our individualism and current society. Electricity naturally being provided from the power on the wall. Transportation and dining as we planned. Humans eagerly devote themselves into seeking an even better "status." As mentioned in my previous exhibition "Negentropy," energy exchange with its surroundings is necessary to maintain a "status." Physical science proves "status" without energy-exchange will proceed into a scattered condition due time passage, yet humans still keep seeking "freedom" in contradiction to the natural law. Civilization and culture were created by an unconscious collective mind of "freedom" under each society. Globalization beyond the 20th century has been expressing "freedom" of each society in forms of wars and others. Still now, monocular symbolism occasions like world expositions and olympics bring universal excitement, including myself, unrelated to the matureness of each civilization/culture. After all, to use abundant energy brings elevation. The favorite phrase of my two-year-old son is "more farther." Perhaps it is beyond the direct heredity of my DNA and the memories of the collective humans from the ancient times which convey to his sensuous.
Everyone is sensing that the over-calorie society is just for now, and that the "Gunyu Kakkyo" structure (splitting and fighting amongst each power leaders) is such a fragile status. No one knows whether "Peak Oil" has come or not, but as for myself who is not a geologist nor an economist nor a sociologist, I felt of expressing the status of "now" - which someday we know that energy would come reach its limit.
