As we transition out of Black History Month and into National Women's Month, we honor one of our own...Tennessee State University Coach Catana Starks, the first female coach of a Division I men's golf team. Her amazing journey first caught the attention of Hollywood as her story was told on the big screen in From the Rough. Recently, the Golf Channel visited the University to share the story of her time at TSU as the first woman ever to coach a men’s golf team. Coach Starks eventually went on to lead the team to victory at the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championship in 2005, with the all-time best score record for the tournament. Watch the video that originally aired on the Golf Channel's Morning Drive, highlighting the trailblazing TSU alum's accomplishments in the male-dominated sport of golf.
